Spazio Nobile presents at NOMAD St Moritz a group exhibition of 20 artists and designers represented by the gallery on the theme of “Snowfield / Nevai”. The setting of the lakes and mountains of the Engadine inspires this projection of the imagination towards snowy, icy landscapes, at once luminous and impermanent, organic and mineral. The Nevai tufted
tapestries by textile artist Vera Vermeersch (BE) have inspired the title of this exhibition.
They herald spring while retaining a wintry accent, and harmonise with the chrysalis
sculptures in chamotte stoneware by Päivi Rintaniemi (FI), the airy Urushi Blue and Original
Paper Pleats furniture and the lacquer painting Lacquer Leaf Blue in Green by Pao Hui Kao
(TW), as well as North stoneware porcelain wall painting by Ann Beate Tempelhaug (NO), the wall installation Wilde Strippen in porcelain and Cobalt blue by Piet Stockmans (BE). On a more cosmic level, the cast glass sculptures Subtle Glass by Amy Hilton (UK) evoke the five vital elements and bring us back to feel their force: earth, water, fire, air and ether, the latter being the space-time that unites us with the universe. The lunar carpets composed by Carine Boxy (BE) accentuate this dimension of a landscape to be experienced in dialogue with the surrounding whiteness. Accents of light emerge in the room thanks to the brilliance of glass, ceramic and crystal creations by Jörg Bräuer (DE), Marie Corbin (FR), Garnier & Linker (FR), Katherine Huskie (GB), Isaac Monté (BE), Bela Silva (PT) and Philipp Weber (DE). Florence Coenraets’s (BE) paintings of feathers, delicate and highly colourful compositions, and Eva Garcia’s (FR) anthromorphic and ethereal works created from typographic ink give body to the space, playing on a presence that is both human and
volatile, natural and supernatural. The turned-wood vessels by Ernst Gamperl (DE) give us a feel for the skin of the tree, counterbalanced by the elegance of the Civilized Primitives collection by Kiki van Eijk (NL), and the monoxyle strength of the burnt and chiseled oak bench by Kaspar Hamacher (BE), the weathered iron and leather of Fabian von Spreckelsen’s privacy cabinet (DE), the bended and woven bamboo of Jin Kuramoto’s Bamboo Chair (JP) and the Nocturne credenza by Quentin Vuong (FR-VN), whose Mercure mirrors give us a glimpse into our soul. The immaculate presence of the snow is like a field that dazzles us and escapes our view, but whose seasonal intensity we feel.

Spazio Nobile présente à NOMAD St-Moritz une exposition collective de 20 artistes et designers représentés par la galerie autour du thème « Champs de neige » (Snowfield / Nevai). Le cadre des lacs et montagnes de l’Engadine inspire cette projection de l’imaginaire vers des paysages enneigés, glacés, à la fois lumineux et impermanents, organiques et minéraux. Les tapisseries tuftées Nevai de l’artiste textile Vera Vermeersch (BE) ont insufflé le titre de cette exposition. Elles annoncent le printemps tout en conservant un accent hivernal et s’harmonisent avec les sculptures-chrysalides en grès chamotté de Päivi Rintaniemi (FI), les mobiliers aériens Urushi Blue et Original Paper Pleats et la peinture de laque Lacquer Leaf Blue in Green de Pao Hui Kao (TW) ainsi que North, la peinture en grès porcelainé d’Ann Beate Tempelhaug (NO) et l’installation murale Wilde Strippen en porcelaine et bleu Cobalt de Piet Stockmans (BE). Plus cosmiques, les sculptures en verre coulé Subtle Glass d’Amy Hilton (GB) évoquent les cinq éléments vitaux et nous ramènent à ressentir leur force : la terre, l’eau, le feu, l’air et l’ether, ce dernier étant l’espace-temps qui nous unit à l’univers. Les tapis lunaires composés par Carine Boxy (BE) accentuent cette dimension de paysage à vivre en dialogue avec la blancheur environnante. Les accents de lumière surgissent dans la pièce grâce à l’éclat des créations en verre, en céramique et en cristaux de Jörg Bräuer (DE), Marie Corbin (FR), Garnier & Linker (FR), Katherine Huskie (GB), Isaac Monté (BE), Bela Silva (PT), Philipp Weber (DE). Les peintures de plumes, des compositions délicates et très colorées de Florence Coenraets (BE) et les œuvres anthromorphiques et éthérées créées à partir d’encre typographique d’Eva Garcia (FR) donnent corps à l’espace en jouant sur une présence à la fois humaine et volatile, naturelle et surnaturelle. Les sculptures en bois tourné d’Ernst Gamperl (DE) nous font ressentir jusqu’à la peau de l’arbre contrebalancé par l’élégance de la collection Civilized Primitives de Kiki van Eijk (NL), la force monoxyle du banc en chêne brûlé de Kaspar Hamacher (BE), le fer érodé et le cuir du cabinet d’intimité de Fabian von Spreckelsen (DE), le bambou tressé et cintré de la Bamboo Chair de Jin Kuramoto (JP) et de la crédence Nocturne de Quentin Vuong (FR-VN) dont les miroirs Mercure nous font miroiter l’âme. L’immaculée présence de la neige est comme un champ qui nous éblouit et qui échappe à
notre vue mais dont on ressent l’intensité saisonnière.
