Jörg Bräuer was born in Germany and lives in Belgium. He is artist and photographer. He studied at the school of Photography and Printing in Munich and holds a Fine Arts degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.), New York University. He has lived and worked in Munich, New York, London, Lisbon and Barcelona. He currently splits his time between home at Place du Grand Sablon 35, Brussels and his studio in South West Charente in France. Jörg Bräuer is represented by Spazio Nobile since 2017.
With Conversations en silence (2015) Jörg Bräuer was the first contemporary artist to have a solo exhibition at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte. Other solo shows of his work were hosted by the Arthus Gallery – Brussels (Insula Maior – the nature of things, 2009 and Boundaries – edge of silence, 2013), by the gallery Le Purgatoire – Paris (Falaises – edge of silence, 2014), at the estate Les Martins – Cognac (Sculpteur du temps, 2018) and by the gallery Spazio Nobile – Brussels (Insel der Zeit, 2020).
His work was presented in several fairs and salons including Art Week Luxembourg (2020), Art Elysées – Paris (2017), Hangar Art Center – Brussels (2016), Fotofever – Tour et Taxis – Brussels (2012, 2013) and Maison parisienne (2013, 2014). Jörg Bräuer’s artworks are featured in the collections of Fondation Thalie, Château de Calon Ségur, Château de Montmoreau and number of private collections.
His work has been honoured by several prizes including: Graphis: Gold Award for 100 Best in Photography (2014), Paris Photography Prize – Px3 (2010) and Photo District News Awards,
New York (2010).
