SHÅK & Spazio Nobile galleries are bringing together talented modern and contemporary designers who are emblematic of collectible applied arts and design at the crossroads of Western and Eastern cultures in a first joint exhibition. An atmosphere of contemplation and poetry floats over this “Alpine Archipelago”. It evokes in the visual tactility and genius of the material landscapes of water and rock, snowy peaks, coniferous forests and pine forests, steep valleys and meadows, between lakes and mountains. The installation, punctuated by singular pieces selected for NOMAD St Moritz, consists of functional and sculptural furniture made of wood, rope, tracing paper and sisal, lighting, objects and sculptures made of turned wood, silver and bronze, glass, porcelain and glazed stoneware, woven and tufted tapestries and rugs, engravings, India ink on paper and photographs. Looking out over Lake St Moritz, one’s gaze is drawn to this Alpine Archipelago where the water owes its beauty and perfection to the mountains, like a mirror to the soul.
