The works are a reflection on living in Kyoto. The works brings together her distinctive approach to color, graphic pattern, and material with Karimoku’s refined craftsmanship and production methods. Inspired by the organization and rhythm of the workshop, Engelgeer reinterprets functional trays and production systems into objects that emphasize connection and composition. Forms referencing traditional wooden geta and layered structures translate practical processes into a quiet visual language. Drawing from antique textiles collected in Kyoto, the series develops a layered palette and subtle graphic motifs, where color and pattern emerge through material observation. Tsudoi becomes a meeting point between precision and sensitivity, bringing contemporary design and craft heritage into dialogue.
