In the hottest zones of the noborigama, the vivid aqueous blue of the geppaku glaze turns luminous and translucent, yielding fine crackles and a delicate gradient. This chawan pursues the quiet beauty of that gradient, overglaze silver applied directly to the exposed clay near the foot brings a distinctly modern presence.
