A chawan in the signature style of Hosai XVI: geppaku glaze poured over the form with overglaze gold. Perhaps the fullest expression of a contemporary kirei sabi. The flourish of the gold, the crisp aqueous blue of the poured geppaku glaze, the primitive presence of the clay, and the white slip that binds these elements together resolve into kirei sabi.
