Restored several times and recently by Aidarchitecten (Kristl Bakermans & Gerd van Zundert), the One-Michelin Star restaurant De Pastorie – run by the Chef Carl Wens, his son Wout and his wife Loes – is hosted in a historical building dating from the 17th century. It has become one of Lichtaart’s jewels and a perfect match of contemporary interior design and cultural heritage. Located in the heart of the village, it stands in the shade of a magnificent century-old trumpet tree. The former pastor’s residence is now home to a warm and elegant gourmet restaurant in Flanders. Its magnificent garden and terrace, has previously been elected Belgium’s most beautiful terrace by Gault & Millau.
