Tibor Weissmahr was born in Munich, Germany. After leaving school, he combined civilian service with 2 years of law studies at Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, then he decided to change focus and study product design. At the University of Arts and Design in Karlsruhe he discovered a way of combining modern digital technologies with traditional crafts. Immediately after graduation he started working for companies like Beyerdynamic and CIAV Meisenthal. He is currently teaching at the Akademie der Bildenen Kuenste Munich and Karlsruhe.
