Tactilités contemplatives
Si la nature nous offre des matières et des textures, c’est au contact avec elles que les artistes les subliment au gré de leur imagination et de leur gestuelle. En mettant en lumière une sélection emblématique des créateurs de la galerie, Spazio Nobile lève le voile sur un vocabulaire sensible et universel qui est ancré au sein de notre imaginaire partagé. Les matières quoique brutes et issues des ressources terrestres sont ici travaillées avec délicatesse et sensibilité dans un rapport direct et tactile au corps et à l’esprit. Innover dans l’existant. Les sens entrent en éveil au contact de matériaux organiques transformés par l’élan artistique et la maîtrise du créateur telles des tactilités à la fois visuelles et émotionnelles : grès émaillé et porcelaine, fibre textile, tissée, tuftée, bois sculpté, tourné, oxydé ou chaulé, cuir épais, fer érodé, argent et bronze patiné, papier plissé, laqué… Toutes des tactilités miraculeuses et non répétitives. Cette nature impermanente des choses qui rejoint celle de nos territoires souvent trop civilisés devient le réceptable de notre mémoire collective. En quête d’authenticité, la tactilité prend forme dans la texture et la textilité de fibres qui s’entremêlent et s’incorporent les unes aux autres ; dans un corpus d’œuvres qui se répondent les unes aux autres. L’ordre naturel est rétabli grâce à ces tactilités contemplatives. Les créations présentées joignent la fibre vivante aux organes de la terre dans un maillage qui renoue et nous lient à nos connections primaires. L’odore del sole, le voci lontane (l’odeur du soleil, les voix lointaines…), une citation du poète italien Cesare Pavese, qui est le titre éponyme de la tapisserie de Vera Vermeersch, traduit la quintessence des œuvres réunies par Spazio Nobile pour cette édition du PAD Paris.
Contemplative Tactility
If nature offers us materials and textures, it is through contact with them that artists sublimate them according to their imagination and gestures. By highlighting an emblematic selection of the gallery’s creators, Spazio Nobile lifts the veil on a sensitive and universal vocabulary that is rooted in our shared imagination. The materials, although raw and derived from the earth’s resources, are here worked with delicacy and sensitivity in a direct and tactile relationship to the body and mind. Innovating in the existing. The senses are awakened by contact with organic materials transformed by the artistic impetus and mastery of the creator, such as tactility that is both visual and emotional: glazed stoneware and porcelain, tufted or woven textile fibres, sculpted, turned, oxidised or limed wood, thick leather, eroded iron, patinated bronze and silver, pleated or lacquered paper… All miraculous and non-repetitive tactility. This impermanent nature of things, which joins that of our often too civilised territories, becomes the receptacle of our collective memory. In search of authenticity, tactility takes shape in the texture and textility of fibres that intermingle and incorporate each other; in a body of work that responds to each other. Natural order is restored through these contemplative tactilities. The creations on show join the living fibres to the organs of the earth in a mesh that reconnects with our primary and primordial roots. L’odore del sole, le voci lontane (the smell of the sun, the distant voices…) This quote of the Italian poet Cesare Pavese, which is the eponym title of Vera Vermeersch’s tapestry, translates the quintessence of these works gathered by Spazio Nobile for PAD Paris.
