Lasvit

The brand Lasvit, founded in 2007 by Leon Jakimič, sheds a new light on Bohemian glass by combining the authenticity of glass craft with innovative technologies and creative craftsmanship. In a few years, Lasvit has established itself as the authority delivering bespoke lighting sculptures and art installations made from hand-blown glass.

Collaborations with renowned designers and artists produce also unique glass collections. Nendo, Ross Lovegrove, Daniel Libeskind, Maarten Baas, Czech legends René Roubíček and Bořek Šípek are among those who choose Lasvit in order to embody their unconventional artistic vision, endow it with the precision and mastery of its glassmakers, and produce impressive creative oeuvre.

Maurizio Galante (born 1963) is one of the world’s most respected haute couture fashion designers. His distinctive language is particularly valuable in contemporary high fashion and his creations are realized with profound respect for traditional craftsmanship, poetically combining an architect’s in-depth knowledge with the fine workmanship of the French Haute Couture atelier and the impeccable finish of Italian manufacturing.

Maarten Baas (born 1978)  graduated  from  the  Design  Academy Eindhoven in  2002  with his Smoke  series.  Instantly,  this  burned  furniture  collection  became  world  famous.  The success continued by several solo shows highlighted by Clay Furniture in 2006 and Real Time in 2009. In 2009, Maarten Baas was awarded as “Designer of the Year” in Miami. His   works   are   in   major   museum   collections,   such   as   Victoria & Albert,   MoMa, Rijksmuseum and Les Arts Decoratifs.

Jan Plechac (born  1984)  and Henry Wielgus (born  1982)  met  during  their  studies  at AAAD  (The  Academy  of  Art,  Architecture  and  Design  in  Prague)  where  they  first collaborated.  After  Jan  Plechac  exhibited  his  thesis  work  at  Salone  Satellite  2011,  he gained much attention from gallery owners and well-known manufacturers. In 2012 Jan Plechac and Henry Wielgus founded studio Jan Plechac & Henry Wielgus.
