Jasper Morrison

The creator of “new simplicity” in the field of design, Jasper Morrison is one of the most famous British designers. He was born in London in 1959, and first attended Kingston Polytechnic Design Studio in 1979. When he left in 1982, he enrolled at the Royal College of Art and continued his training at HdK Berlin until 1984. In 1986, Jasper Morrison launched his own design studio in London, and since then has split his time between his London and Paris offices. His style distinguished itself quite early on: in his hands, objects take on very clean, almost severe, lines while staying both practical and elegant. His first designs exhibited at La Documenta in Berlin during the Reuters News Center installation were very well received. Furnishing and accessory distributors saw the way the wind was blowing, and lost no time in giving him work. Vitra, Alessi, Flos and Cappellini are all regular clients of the designer. He was named Designer of the Year in 2000 at the Paris Design Week.
