Fred Rieffel opened his own design studio based in Strasbourg in the beginning of 1998. Since then, he has developed furniture in collaboration with numerous French and international companies including Arfa, Sif, Collinet, Cinna, Roche Bobois, Pianca and Habitat. His work is unfrenzied, focussing on details, usages. In a time of acceleration and zapping, Fred Rieffel seeks products that are durable, with “heritage”.
During his career, he won several international design awards including Young &Design in Milan, Good Design in Chicago, the VIA labels in France, the Reddot Award in Germany. His work is included in the French National Foundation for Contemporary Art in Paris, and the Chicago Athenaeum’s museum of architecture and design.
