Christelle Familiari

Christelle Familiari builds her work in connection with her body; meshes, twists, braiding, weaving and threading are born from her movements, with no intermediary. Her work often questions the relationship of the body to another, but also the relationship of the body to architecture. Some of her sculptures flirt with more functional objects: she imagines them in relation to craft expertise. Most recently, her work was presented at the musée des Beaux-Arts of Rennes, and at the FRAC des Pays-de-la-Loire. Her works are found in various private and public collection in France and abroad. She lives and works in Rennes, where she teaches sculpture and installation at the École Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne.
