Classic Scandinavian style and bespoke furniture pieces by SPACE Copenhagen, on a bed of repurposed industrial space, overlaid with the culinary genius of the world’s most influential chef… This sumptuous serving is Restaurant 108, the new 80-seater serving Noma’s refined, complex fare with a more casual atmosphere.

Celebrating the industrial heritage of the building and neighbourhood, the interior space has been shaped using lighting and intense colour. Douche green and midnight blue suggest nature and sea, while the red evokes the facades, bricks and roofs of the city.

“We wanted to keep the strong structural elements of the tall, light space, as well as reframe the existing beautiful material palette of concrete, bricks and dark metals,” explains SPACE Copenhagen co-founder Signe Bendslev Henrikson.

The furniture has been chosen or designed to age with beauty and grace, most manufactured and edited by the Shanghai-based brand Stellar Works. The salient mouth-blown ceiling pendants are by Bomma, Design Studio Olgoj Chorchoj; and the woven chairs by Jørgen Bækmark. A palette of light and dark oak is used for tables and seats, with SPACE Copenhagen’s Round Accent tables like small islands around the space. Custom storage includes wardrobes in blackened steel and stretch metal as well as wood credenzas for waiting stations.

“Working with SPACE has been paramount for us,” said Rene Redzepi. “From day one, they understood our vision and their work has complemented everything that we do.”
