More than 50 artworks are exhibited in the Belfius gallery in the framework of the Magma Cloud Ashes‘ exhibition. Around that theme, Belfius Art Collection is exploring the impact and symbols of three colours considered to be fundamental and culturally close by historians: Red, White and Black. This show considers these three archetypal and contrasting tones through their material and immersive presence, as well as through the discovery of their interpretations across various cultures and periods. Among others : Piet Stockmans, René Magritte, Jan Brueghel (the Elder), Ann Veronica Janssens, Pierre Alechinsky, Luc Tuymans, Michaël Borremans, Jan Fabre, Léon Spilliiaert, James Ensor, Rik Wouters, Serge Vandercam, Antoine Mortier, Henri Michaux, Pierre Culot, Hans Op de Beeck and Leo Copers.

The exhibition is curated by Bénédicte Bouton and Carol Laurent.
